hey while surfing the net i came across a site . i am quoting it to emphasise that pharmacy in India have no scope."Industry centered curriculum
Pharmacy education in India for the past several decades has been industry centered. It does not meet the requirements of patient care and pharmacy practice.
Industry-institute interaction is essential. This strengthens the ties for organising in campus placement services for the graduates and to generate resources for research and development. Institutions are having expert, experienced human resources having innovative patentable ideas. Industry should collaborate with institutions to avail these ideas. In return, institutes should acquire the latest technological know-how from the industry. Benefits that can be expected from this symbiotic relationship are multi fold.
In India, a pharmacist has no public image. In hospitals, pharmacists are still serving as compounders rather than counselors. The pharmacists do not play any useful role in the health care of the country. Even the new Health Policy of the Government of India (2002) has not recognised the services of pharmacist. "
will keep updating.

the site from where i got this
hey guys...i think my friend has taken a gr8 initiative to save the lives of all those pharmacy aspirants or i can rather say Medical rejected..i can say he is very true as we all have gone thru the same phase and are still struggling everyday for survival..
I don't understand why people consider it to be a real good course with a very bright future ahead i see it nowhere...though i was one of the toppers of my college but still i am facing the same obstacles bcoz the opportunities are so limited ..i don't want to go and beg in front of those incompetent doctors
I know many of u won't agree to me but that's the truth..friends don't keep urself in darkness and try to see the truth..
good post!
Actually the same goes for Biotech.
Students not able to get into a medical college opt for this course hoping that it will give their career a big boost.
But the truth is it is no better than a simple B.Sc.
You cant hope to get a decent job without a Ph.d because after MSc mostly Medical Representive jobs are offered.
I think students should not get blinded by the media perception of the course. Before taking admission you should be very careful about the actual placements and the value that the degree holds!
Thanks annonymous!
yes, You rightly pointed out the case of biotec. We keep on hearing that there will be a biotech boom but it never comes!
In our college also not even a single biotech core company came for placement.
Thanks for the comment, do tell me your name
